New Writing Assignment: Tell Us About Your Everyday Hero! 🦸♀️🦸♂️
Hi everyone,
I hope you enjoyed our recent discussions about what makes someone a hero! We talked about famous heroes, but also about the everyday heroes in our own lives – people who inspire us, help us, or show great courage and kindness.
Now, it's your turn to share your thoughts and stories!
Your New Writing Assignment:
Your task is to write a blog post about a person you consider an everyday hero. This could be a family member, a friend, a teacher, a neighbor, or anyone who has made a positive impact on your life or the lives of others.
What to Include in Your Blog Post:
To help you get started, think about these questions as you plan your writing:
- Who is your everyday hero? (Introduce them briefly).
- What makes this person a hero in your eyes? (Describe their special qualities – are they brave, kind, supportive, dedicated, resilient?)
- Can you share a specific story or example? Tell us about a time when this person did something heroic, inspiring, or particularly helpful. Show us, don't just tell us!
- How has this person influenced you or your view of the world?
Blog Post Requirements:
- Title: Create an interesting and engaging title for your post (e.g., "My Amazing Grandma: A True Hero," "The Teacher Who Changed My Life," "My Friend, the Everyday Superhero").
- Structure: Organize your post with a clear introduction, a main body (where you describe the person and tell your story), and a conclusion.
- Length: Aim for around 150-200 words (about 3-4 well-developed paragraphs).
- Language: Use descriptive adjectives and vivid verbs to make your hero and their story come alive for the reader. Try to use some of the new vocabulary we've learned!
- Multimedia (Optional but Recommended!): If you can find a suitable and respectful image (royalty-free, or one you have permission to use) that represents your hero or your story, feel free to include it. Remember to write a short caption for the image in English.
- Tags: Don't forget to add relevant tags to your post (e.g.,
myhero,inspiration,everydayhero,[Your Name/Class]).
The Writing Process:
Remember our writing stages:
- Plan (Pre-writing): Brainstorm your ideas using the questions above. Create a simple outline.
- Draft: Write your first version. Focus on getting your ideas down.
- Revise & Edit: Read through your draft. Improve your ideas, check your grammar, spelling, and punctuation. You can use the checklist on our "Learning Resources" page. Perhaps ask a family member or a classmate (if we agree on peer review for this task) to read it too before publishing!
Where to Publish:
Please publish your completed blog post on your individual student blog.
Deadline:
The deadline for publishing your "Everyday Hero" blog post is: [Укажите здесь дату, например, Friday, May 30th, by 6:00 PM].
